The Medical Center of Southeast Texas Opens Child Development Outpatient Center

PORT ARTHUR, Texas. December 12, 2007 – The Medical Center of Southeast Texas announced the opening of a new Triangle Kids Child Development Center located on the first floor of the Regional Office Building, adjacent to the hospital. The Child Development Rehab program focuses on children with development delays, disabilities and children who are at risk for problems in development. 

The outpatient services will include Occupational Therapy which will assist children in developing skills for independence in home, school, and community settings. Some of these include visual motor skills, visual perceptual skills and self-care skills. The Speech/Language Therapy will assist children in obtaining the necessary speech and language skills to ensure their future academic success. Physical therapists will assist children in developing gross motor skills for safe, independent participation in home, community, school, and play activities.
