The Medical Center of Southeast Texas opened in April 2005 as a full service, 224-bed hospital focusing on Centers of Excellence in Cardiology, Emergency Medicine, Women’s Services, Bariatric Surgery and Orthopedics.
Highlights of the facility include all-private rooms, a state-of-the art emergency room with a fast-track area for minor illness and injury, a dedicated heart center, surgical suites with the latest in digital surgical technology, and an obstetrics unit that includes a neo-natal intensive care unit for high-risk babies.
The facility continues to grow and opened an Outpatient Center in August 2006. The outpatient center offers Cardiac Rehabilitation Services, Wound Care/Hyperbaric Services, Outpatient Behavioral Health Services, a Child Development Rehab Center and Outpatient Imaging Services. The outpatient imaging services includes a 64-slice CT Scanner. The Medical Center is the first hospital in the Southeast Texas area to acquire the 64-Slice CT Scanner.
The commitment to provide excellent quality care to our community is further exemplified by the physicians and staff as recipients of the coveted Press Ganey Associates 2007 Compass Award. The Compass Award recognizes top performing hospitals that sustain the highest level of patient satisfaction. This accomplishment compels us to work harder and seek opportunities that allow us even higher standards of excellence for our staff and patients.
